Construction Manager (Construction Site based role- Resort Project)
About the role
The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the construction activities of a resort project based in Dambulla, Sri Lanka. The role involves supervising the main contractor and specialist subcontractors, coordinating with architects and consultants, monitoring construction quality and progress, and ensuring compliance with HSE requirements. The position requires preparing progress reports, managing site activities, and handling contractual matters such as variations and claims. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in building construction and site management, particularly in hospitality projects, and will possess strong skills in construction planning, quality control, and team coordination. The company, Ascentis, is an international engineering and project management consultancy specializing in hospitality and commercial developments.
Must have
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a recognized university.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant construction experience, including at least 7 years in building construction/site management.
- Proven experience in managing hotel/resort or other high-end hospitality projects, preferably with at least two projects completed through construction, finishing and handover.
- Strong experience in managing Main Contractors and coordinating Architects, Structural, MEP, QS and specialist consultants.
- Good knowledge of construction planning, programme management, quality control, HSE, contract administration and construction methodologies.
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6/MS Project, AutoCAD and relevant construction management systems (cloud system).
- Good knowledge of civil, structural, architectural finishing and MEP coordination works.
- Familiar with MS Office, outlook and Teams.
- Good communication and presentation skills in English.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in a PMC/consultancy environment would be highly desirable.
- Experience in hotel fit-out, testing & commissioning and handover would be an advantage.

Highlights
