Manager - Fintech (IT)
About the role
The Manager - Fintech (IT) will lead and develop a team of IT professionals supporting digital payment and fintech platforms within a telecommunications company in Sri Lanka. The role involves strategic planning, policy development, and implementation of digital payment initiatives, as well as managing vendor relationships and overseeing the integration and support of payment gateways, processors, and fintech platforms. The manager will ensure system stability, security, and compliance with regulatory standards, and act as the escalation point for critical incidents. Candidates should have a strong background in IT, digital payments, and team leadership.
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT, with strong exposure to digital channels, payment systems, or fintech.
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, including team and project management.
- Hands-on experience supporting card payments, mobile wallets, fintech applications, or digital payment platforms.
- Experience leading system integrations, API implementations, and digital technology projects.
- Strong understanding of digital payment ecosystems, payment gateways, processors, and fintech platforms.
- Good knowledge of REST, JSON, SOAP, APIs, and web services.
- Experience with Linux or Unix server administration is essential.
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge of scripting languages and automation practices.
- Understanding of payment security, encryption methods, SSL certificates, and PCI DSS compliance.
Nice to have
- Master's degree or postgraduate qualification in IT will be an advantage.
