Quality Assurance Engineer
About the role
The Quality Assurance Engineer at Mitra Innovation will be responsible for reviewing requirement specifications, creating and executing detailed test plans, and performing various types of software testing including functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing. The role involves designing and executing API tests, identifying and tracking bugs, liaising with internal and external teams, and leveraging AI-assisted testing tools to enhance test coverage and efficiency. The position requires interaction with AWS services, hands-on database testing with MySQL, and experience in test automation and API testing, particularly in complex or distributed systems. Prior experience in insurance or financial systems is strongly preferred. Mitra Innovation is a collaborative technology company focused on delivering secure, scalable solutions for global clients.
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science/IT.
- 2+ years experience in software quality assurance.
- Thorough knowledge and skills in software quality assurance process.
- Interact with AWS services to support logging analysis, workflow validation, configuration management, and data verification across testing activities.
- Hands-on experience in database testing with strong working knowledge of MySQL, including writing and validating SQL queries, data integrity checks, and test data management.
- Having strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Hands-on experience in test automation is a plus.
- Proven experience in API testing with a strong understanding of RESTful principles, HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON payloads.
- Demonstrated experience in designing test plans for complex, distributed, or event- driven systems.
- Prior testing experience in insurance or financial systems is strongly preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with different project stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Exposure to international client engagements is an added advantage.
- Must have good English verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted QA tools (e.g. test case generation, anomaly detection, intelligent test automation) is an added advantage.
- Programming proficiency is required; TypeScript and Python are the preferred languages.
- Design, develop and execute automation scripts using appropriate tools.
