Quality Assurance Engineer
About the role
The Quality Assurance Engineer at Abans Group will be responsible for performing both manual and automated testing of e-commerce applications. The role involves preparing and executing test plans, test cases, and scenarios, as well as testing various aspects of the e-commerce platform such as product catalogues, shopping carts, payment gateways, and order management. The engineer will develop and maintain automated test scripts, conduct functional, regression, integration, cross-browser, and non-functional testing, including performance, security, usability, and reliability. Additional responsibilities include API testing, database validation, using AI tools to support QA activities, defect tracking, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance software quality. Candidates should have a relevant degree and at least one year of experience in software QA/testing, with practical exposure to e-commerce applications and both manual and automation testing.
Must have
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or an equivalent qualification 1+ year experience in Software QA/Testing.
- Practical experience in testing e-commerce applications.
- Hands-on experience in both Manual and Automation Testing.
- Knowledge of Playwright or Selenium for web automation testing Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
- Basic SQL knowledge for database validation.
- Experience using Al tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools to support QA activities Understanding of SDLC, STLC, and software testing methodologies Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a software development team.
Nice to have
- Experience with Cypress automation testing
- Knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript or Python Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of performance testing using JMeter
- Experience testing payment gateway integrations
- Familiarity with Al-assisted test automation and intelligent test generation
- Knowledge of web application security testing and OWASP fundamentals
- ISTQB-Certification (Foundation Level or above) is preferred

Highlights
ISTQB certification (Foundation Level or above) is preferred but not required. Experience with Cypress, JavaScript/TypeScript or Python, Git, CI/CD pipelines, JMeter, and payment gateway testing are considered added advantages.
