Technical Lead – DevOps (2 Openings)
About the role
Sysco LABS, the technology arm of Sysco Corporation, is seeking a Technical Lead – DevOps to join their team in Sri Lanka. The role involves researching, evaluating, and recommending DevOps tools, deploying and managing AWS cloud-based production systems, ensuring system security, and coaching development teams in DevOps practices. The Technical Lead will work collaboratively in an Agile environment, supporting projects throughout the software lifecycle and ensuring OS stability on both Windows and Linux systems. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent and at least 6 years of experience in DevOps, with strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, DevOps tools, containerization, and troubleshooting skills. Must have
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, and 6+ years of experience in DevOps
- A strong knowledge of AWS, Azure cloud computing and AWS/Azure DevOps tools
- Strong knowledge in fundamental DevOps tools such as AWS/Azure DevOps tools, Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub, Datadog, Experience working with cloud SDKs etc.
- Strong knowledge of containerization of software packages using solutions such as Dockerization, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, AWS Fargate, etc.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, testing and troubleshooting DevOps tools in production systems
- Adherence to engineering standards and best practices; must be process oriented
- Troubleshooting skills on Windows and Linux operating systems (Preferred Windows background on AD, Clustering, Failovering, Security, Patching etc.)
- Strong communication skills – reading & comprehending documents/specifications, producing clear and thorough documentation, with the ability to discuss and explain technical issues during meetings
- 2+ years of experience with one of the dynamic object-oriented programing languages like Groovy, Ruby or Python. Experience with a programming language like Java, C#, Node.js JavaScript and related web frameworks will be an added advantage
