About the role
The Lead DevOps Engineer (Azure) role involves designing, building, and managing scalable, secure, and automated environments on Azure cloud platforms. The position is responsible for building and managing Azure platforms using tools like Terraform, Crossplane, AKS, and GitOps, as well as developing reusable automation code in C# and Python. The engineer will embed security, governance, and secrets management into CI/CD pipelines, apply SRE principles, optimize cloud costs, and provide operational support while collaborating with various teams. The role requires strong Azure experience, advanced knowledge of Kubernetes and related technologies, and proficiency with a range of DevOps tools and practices.
Must have
- 2+ years of enterprise Azure experience (AKS, Container Apps, VNets, Key Vault, Entra ID, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, Monitor, SQL, Cosmos DB)
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Pod Security Standards
- Hands-on with ArgoCD, GitOps, Azure DevOps YAML pipelines
- Advanced use of Terraform, Crossplane, declarative desired state configuration
- Proficiency in Azure CLI, PowerShell, Bash, kubectl, helm, git, docker
- Experience with Snyk, SonarQube, vulnerability scanning, workload identity
- Database expertise in Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB with secure connectivity

- Bonus: Experience with Backstage developer portals and .NET/Python development
