About the role

The Senior Software Engineer Java role involves developing software solutions with a focus on Java-based technologies. The position requires hands-on experience in software engineering, particularly with Java SE, Java EE, and Spring Boot, as well as building back-end components and services. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with relational databases like Oracle, and familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC tools. Must have

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
2 + years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a focus on Java-based technologies, ideally in roles such as Software Engineer or Senior Software Engineer.
Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming, Java SE (versions 8/17/21), Java EE, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, as well as Unit and Integration Testing.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Solid understanding of relational databases (Oracle), including experience with stored procedures.
Proven experience in building back-end components and services.
Familiarity with implementing secure, scalable, resilient and highly available systems, including the use of clustering/load balancing and messaging systems such as Kafka, JMS, or IBM MQ Series (preferred).
Good knowledge of Agile development methodologies and experience with SDLC tools such as JIRA, Bamboo, SonarQube, Git and JUnit to enhance development and testing workflows.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
Prior experience or knowledge in the financial services domain is considered an added advantage.
