About the role

Zebra is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Firmware/Software Engineer to serve as a Technical Lead, acting as the bridge between system specifications and product quality. The role involves partnering with system architects, product managers, and developers to analyze specifications, designing and scaling automated test frameworks (primarily in Python), and ensuring robust test coverage for complex hardware and software systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting firmware/software defects, maintaining traceability of test scenarios, and proactively suggesting process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong coding skills, hands-on experience with embedded systems, and excellent problem-solving and communication abilities. Must have

Strong proficiency in Python or similar object-oriented scripting languages, with a track record of writing robust, clean, and automated test code.
Hands-on familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded systems, basic networking, and hardware-software integration.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong passion for understanding how complex software and hardware systems interact.
Ability to collaborate seamlessly across teams and take ownership of feature validations with minimal supervision on recurring tasks.
