Lead GenAI Engineer
About the role
The Lead GenAI Engineer role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered solutions using no-code, low-code, and advanced engineering platforms. The position involves translating business needs into scalable applications that enhance products, workflows, and decision-making, while ensuring responsible AI practices and production readiness. Key responsibilities include partnering with senior AI/ML engineers to experiment with novel model architectures and generative AI capabilities, advancing autonomous agentic systems, and optimizing data pipelines for large-scale operations. The role requires strong experience in software development, AI/ML solution delivery, and proficiency with relevant technologies such as Python, Azure, and front-end frameworks.
Must have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science engineering or a related field or equivalent relevant experience
- 5+ years of software development experience including 2+ years delivering AI/ML focused solutions
- Hands on experience implementing generative AI solutions using OpenAI compatible APIs and cloud-based AI and data services
- Advanced Python proficiency for AI ML engineering backend services automation and data processing.
- Hands on experience with Azure App Service Azure Functions Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
- Experience with GitHub and Microsoft 365 Copilot in enterprise engineering workflows
- Experience developing front end applications using React or Angular and backend services using Python.
- Solid understanding of RAG architecture vector databases embeddings semantic search retrieval optimization and evaluation
- Demonstrated ability to lead the design and implementation of intelligent applications using Azure OpenAI, an enterprise LLM gateway and RAG techniques
Nice to have
- Experience with prompt engineering model evaluation and fine tuning large language models
- Creates reusable patterns documentation and engineering assets that accelerate delivery across teams.
- Build trusted stakeholder relationships and communicate technical decisions risks and trade offs clearly.
