IT Support Technician - Contract Based
About the role
The IT Support Technician (Contract Based) will provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues. Key responsibilities include managing IT support requests, diagnosing and troubleshooting desktop computers and IT peripherals, performing hardware installations and maintenance, troubleshooting network issues, and providing onsite and remote technical support. The role also involves performing rack-and-stack activities and other IT support-related duties as assigned. Candidates must have a diploma or professional qualification in IT or a related field, a basic understanding of cybersecurity, and strong communication and customer-service skills. A valid driving license is mandatory, and candidates based in Jaffna are encouraged to apply.
Must have
- Diploma or professional qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity, antivirus/endpoint protection, user access control, and IT security best practices.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours, weekends, or on-call when required for critical incidents and scheduled maintenance.
- Ability to provide remote and onsite technical support to users across multiple locations.
- Willingness to travel to branch offices, customer locations, and remote sites when required.
- A valid driving license is mandatory for the position.
