About the role
The Finance Graduate Intern – Project Coordinator at Union Bank of Colombo will support key banking and finance projects by assisting with planning, coordination, and progress tracking across multiple workstreams. The role involves gathering and analyzing financial and operational data, preparing reports and presentations, maintaining project documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The intern will also support process improvements, contribute to business case development, and assist with internal communication related to assigned projects. This position offers exposure to core banking operations, project management, and financial analysis within a dynamic commercial banking environment.
Must have
- Educational background in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, or a related field (completed or currently pursuing a relevant degree or professional qualification).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational data, prepare basic reports, and support project-related analysis.
- Good organizational and coordination skills, including managing timelines, tracking tasks, and maintaining accurate project documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, for data analysis, reporting, and presentation development.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders at different levels.
- Attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work in a structured and deadline-driven environment.
- Interest in banking and financial services, with a willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to process improvements and project delivery.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and commitment to upholding the bank’s values and customer-focused service standards.
