Data Communications Engineer
About the role
The Solution Engineer – Data Communication role involves supporting customer and partner solution development in IP Networking and Optical Communication technologies. The position focuses on designing, presenting, and supporting networking solutions, while staying updated with advancements in AI, cloud, and ICT technologies. Candidates are expected to learn about AI's impact on network architecture and develop skills to support AI-related infrastructure and integrated ICT solutions. The role is with a telecommunications client and is based in Colombo 01 on a one-year contract.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
- Fresh graduates from reputable universities with First Class or Second Class Upper / equivalent academic performance are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with relevant experience in networking, telecom, ICT infrastructure, or solution engineering are also welcome.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals such as IP, Routing, Switching, Ethernet, WAN, and network architecture.
Nice to have
- Knowledge or exposure to Optical Communication, Transmission, or Optical Networking will be an added advantage.
- Interest in AI, cloud, data center, and emerging ICT technologies will be highly valued.
- Relevant Huawei, Cisco, or other industry certifications will be an advantage.
