Associate Tech Lead
About the role
PayMedia, a leading FinTech company in Sri Lanka, is seeking an Associate Tech Lead to join their team. The role involves leading the technical development of wallet and remittance platforms, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. The Associate Tech Lead will define design decisions, collaborate with stakeholders, manage the software development lifecycle, mentor engineers, and ensure secure coding practices. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in software development, particularly in FinTech, and strong technical and leadership skills. The company offers an opportunity to work on innovative financial solutions in a dynamic environment.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a Tech Lead or Senior Engineer role.
- Proven experience in FinTech, especially in digital wallets, remittance systems, or payment platforms.
- Experience with mobile platforms, APIs, transaction processing, and financial protocols.
- Proficient in backend technologies like Node.js, Java, .NET, or Python.
- Familiarity with mobile technologies (iOS, Android, Flutter/React Native).
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs, Microservices Architecture, and Message Queues.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of security practices in FinTech: encryption, fraud detection, 2FA, KYC/AML integrations.
- Strong database knowledge (PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL).
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Clear and effective communication, both technical and non-technical.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

- Master’s degree or FinTech certifications (optional but a plus).
