About the role
The Senior Data Support Engineer will join the Global Data Operations team in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This role is responsible for leading complex troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis across enterprise data platforms. Key duties include monitoring and supporting data ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, integrations, and data warehouse operations, as well as performing SQL query tuning and ensuring data security and compliance. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers, driving operational excellence within the organization.
Must have
- Strong expertise in SQL and performance tuning.
- Experience with ETL/ELT, Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, and Data Modelling.
- Exposure to Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, Astronomer (Airflow), and Automic Automation.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, and Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with ITSM/ITIL processes and production support operations.
- 5+ years of experience in Data Support Operations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing production incidents and providing technical leadership.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
