Business Operations Analyst / Analyst to the MD
About the role
The Business Operations Analyst / Analyst to the MD will work directly with the Managing Director of an expanding industrial packaging manufacturer. The role focuses on eliminating operational friction across departments, mapping and standardizing workflows, and deploying AI and workflow automations to streamline processes. Responsibilities include supporting executive operations, documenting SOPs, standardizing protocols, implementing digital tools, and leading operational improvement projects. The position offers direct executive mentorship, high visibility, and a clear pathway to a permanent senior operational leadership role as the company modernizes and scales.
Must have
- B.Sc. (Hons) Degree in: Business Process Management (BPM) /Industrial Management (IM)
- 2 to 4 years of proven experience in business operations, process design, or continuous improvement—preferably with exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, or light industrial environments.
- Demonstrated capability in value-stream mapping, SOP drafting, and designing practical, low-friction forms and operational checklists from scratch.
- Strong working familiarity with modern AI productivity tools (LLMs, automated documentation builders, data extraction) and workflow automation tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, Google AppSheet/Scripts, or advanced Google Workspace formulas).
- Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (Google Sheets, Forms, Docs) or MS Excel for data modeling, dashboard construction, and operational tracking.
- Confident, structured, and articulate communication skills in both English and Sinhala to collaborate seamlessly with shop-floor teams and executive management.
- A proactive problem-solver with an ownership mentality and the drive to step into long-term senior operational leadership.
