Quality Assurance Engineer
About the role
Authentz is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer with 5-7 years of experience to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of their technology platform for educational institutions. The role involves owning QA activities throughout the software development lifecycle, analyzing requirements, creating and maintaining test plans, performing various types of testing (functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory), and validating web applications and APIs. The QA Engineer will work closely with software engineers, business analysts, and UI/UX teams, contribute to test automation, and support release validation and production verification. The position requires strong manual and automation testing skills, experience with tools like Postman and Jira, and a solid understanding of Agile methodologies. Authentz values a quality-first mindset and strong ownership of product quality.
Must have
- 5-7 years of professional QA/testing experience in software products.
- Strong experience with manual testing of web applications.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and the SDLC.
- Experience creating test cases, test plans, and test scenarios.
- Experience with functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
- Experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman or equivalent.
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira.
- Good understanding of databases and SQL.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent.
- Ability to develop and maintain automated regression tests.
- Understanding of automation best practices and test maintainability.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
