AI UI/UX SPECIALIST
About the role
The AI UI/UX Specialist will be responsible for designing intuitive, inclusive, and user-friendly experiences for AI-enabled products, agents, and applications. The role involves leading user-centered design activities, conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, designing conversational and graphical AI interfaces, and ensuring accessibility in line with WCAG 2.2 AA principles. The specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams and recommend improvements based on user feedback and research. Candidates should have proven experience in UI/UX or related design roles, proficiency in Figma or similar tools, and knowledge of Generative AI and responsible AI principles. The position is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, within the Information Technology – Systems Delivery business unit.
Must have
- Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, Product Designer, Service Designer or Interaction Designer.
- Strong skills in user research, journey mapping, information architecture, interaction design and usability testing.
- Proficiency in Figma, FigJam or equivalent design tools.
- Experience with design systems, reusable components and responsive interfaces.
- Good understanding of accessibility and WCAG standards.
- Knowledge of Generative AI, Machine Learning, AI agents, prompts, grounding and responsible AI.
- Ability to design conversational interfaces and AI-enabled workflows.
- Understanding of web/application development, APIs and component-based design.
- Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder-management and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, HCI, Digital Design, Psychology, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- A portfolio or case studies demonstrating the candidate's design process and delivered outcomes are required.
Nice to have
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio, Power Platform or Azure AI.
- Exposure to insurance or financial-services environments.
- Certifications in UX research, accessibility, service design, product design or responsible AI.
