About the role
The Data Engineering Project Manager will lead data initiatives within the insurance industry, working closely with stakeholders to identify data needs, design data pipelines, and ensure the technical infrastructure supports the data platform. The role involves both hands-on development and strategic leadership, focusing on data usage and governance. Key responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, creating and enforcing development standards, defining features to enhance data usage, and providing governance and consultancy on the data platform.
Must have
- 3+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience with Azure capabilities, particularly Analytics tools including Synapse.
- Advanced SQL knowledge, ideally with MS SQL Server and Azure SQL.
- Experience in data analytics, information services data cleansing, data migration, and data modeling and design.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Spark.
- Strong communication skills to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Ability to influence strategic data usage at both technical and cultural levels.
- Willingness to learn and propose innovative solutions.
- Experience in a collaborative work environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.
