Quality Assurance Engineer
About the role
Pelago is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer with a focus on Load & Performance Testing for a 3-month contract based in Colombo. The role involves planning and executing load and performance tests, assessing system performance, stability, scalability, and responsiveness, and identifying bottlenecks and performance issues. The QA Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve product reliability, prepare test plans and documentation, conduct regression testing, and provide technical feedback. The ideal candidate will have 3–4+ years of professional experience in software QA, strong hands-on experience in load and performance testing, and a bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
Must have
- 3–4+ years of professional experience in Software QA
- Strong hands-on experience in Load & Performance Testing
- Ability to identify, analyze and report performance-related issues
- Strong understanding of performance, scalability, stability and system responsiveness
- Experience developing structured test plans and testing documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to quickly understand new technologies and systems
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field
Nice to have
- Experience in FinTech or financial services
- Experience testing FinTech mobile applications
- Experience working with high-volume or transaction-heavy systems
- Experience identifying performance bottlenecks across applications, APIs or backend systems
- Experience mentoring junior QA engineers
- Experience reviewing test cases and improving QA processes
