Senior Engineers – DevOps
About the role
Sysco LABS, the technology arm of Sysco Corporation, is seeking Senior Engineers – DevOps to join their team in Sri Lanka. The role involves provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure, developing and maintaining infrastructure as code, deploying and troubleshooting containerized applications, implementing monitoring and observability, automating operational workflows, configuring CI/CD pipelines, and maintaining technical documentation. Candidates should have 3-5 years of relevant hands-on experience and be proficient with cloud platforms, infrastructure-as-code tools, containerization, scripting, and CI/CD tools. The position offers the opportunity to work on technology that supports Sysco’s global foodservice operations.
Must have
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, SRE, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience provisioning and managing infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with AI tools and AI-assisted engineering practices to improve productivity, automate workflows, troubleshoot technical issues, and support infrastructure and platform engineering tasks.
- Experience implementing or operating monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK/OpenSearch, or OpenTelemetry.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language: Python, Go, or Bash.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or Jenkins.
- Familiarity with Linux administration and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating on technical design and planning.
- Clear communication skills, including documenting technical findings, trade-offs, and recommendations.
