About the role

The Technical Lead – Angular/Spring Boot role at Eyepax involves providing hands-on technical leadership for the design, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, high-performance full-stack applications using Angular and Spring Boot. The position requires leading solution design, setting architecture standards, mentoring engineers, and ensuring the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices. The role is client-facing and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, architects, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions. The successful candidate will also be responsible for promoting best practices, ensuring code quality, and guiding the team in adopting modern AI-powered development workflows.

Must have

  • 9+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with significant experience designing and developing enterprise-grade full-stack applications.
  • At least 2+ years of experience providing technical leadership, leading engineering workstreams, mentoring engineers, and making technical decisions within delivery teams.
  • Strong proficiency in Angular, preferably Angular 19+, together with TypeScript, JavaScript ES6+, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive application design.
  • Strong understanding of Angular architecture, reusable components, reactive programming, state management, routing, forms, performance optimization, and frontend testing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and related Spring technologies.
  • Strong experience designing, implementing, documenting, integrating, and securing RESTful APIs and JSON-based services.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and practical experience with MySQL, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and application-level data access patterns.
  • Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, secure coding, API security, data protection, and common web application vulnerabilities.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, clean code, design patterns, automated testing, and maintainable software design.
  • Sound understanding of modern application architectures, including modular monoliths, microservices, event-driven systems, distributed applications, and their associated architectural trade-offs.
  • Ability to evaluate solution options and make sound technical decisions considering scalability, maintainability, performance, security, complexity, delivery constraints, and business requirements.
  • Experience with Git, branching strategies, pull requests, code review practices, automated builds, and modern CI/CD workflows.
  • Working knowledge of at least one cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and an understanding of cloud-ready application design.
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerized application development; Kubernetes exposure is advantageous.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and contributing to requirements clarification, estimation, planning, delivery, release management, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain hands-on while providing technical direction, resolving complex technical challenges, and maintaining ownership of technical outcomes.
  • Strong mentoring and team leadership skills, with the ability to guide engineers at different experience levels and raise overall engineering capability.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across engineering teams, business stakeholders, architects, delivery teams, and client organizations.
  • Ability to facilitate technical discussions, resolve differing viewpoints constructively, and drive teams toward clear technical decisions and agreed actions.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts, architecture decisions, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate technical risks, dependencies, blockers, progress, and required decisions proactively and in a manner appropriate to the audience.
  • Strong client-facing capability and confidence acting as a technical representative during requirement discussions, design reviews, delivery discussions, and technical issue resolution.
  • Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or equivalent tools, or demonstrated ability to adopt such technologies effectively.
  • Ability to use generative AI effectively for implementation, refactoring, testing, debugging, code analysis, technical documentation, solution exploration, and rapid prototyping.
  • Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code and technical outputs for correctness, security, performance, maintainability, architecture, testability, and unintended behavior.
  • Understanding that AI-assisted development complements rather than replaces sound engineering judgment, architecture, human review, testing, and accountability.
  • Awareness of responsible AI considerations including data privacy, intellectual property, information security, hallucination risks, sensitive data handling, and protection of client information.
  • Ability to identify appropriate opportunities for AI and automation while recognizing situations where human engineering judgment and review are essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

  • Domain knowledge of event ticketing, reservation, e-commerce, or high-volume transactional platforms.
  • Experience designing or working with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with caching technologies such as Redis.
  • Knowledge of API gateways, service discovery, centralized configuration, distributed tracing, and observability patterns.
  • Experience with performance testing, application monitoring, structured logging, production troubleshooting, and operational support.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native engineering practices.
  • Experience designing or contributing to microservices, event-driven architectures, or distributed systems.
  • Experience facilitating architecture reviews, technical design discussions, or solution workshops with clients and engineering teams.
  • Experience with technical interviews, onboarding, mentoring programs, or engineering capability development.
  • Experience introducing or governing AI-assisted development standards, workflows, automation, or developer productivity initiatives.
  • Practical experience with AI-first development, prompt engineering, agentic coding, AI-assisted code review, or autonomous development workflows.
  • Familiarity with measuring AI-assisted engineering effectiveness using indicators such as cycle time, throughput, code quality, defect rates, review effort, or engineering productivity.
  • Experience evaluating new engineering technologies and introducing them into delivery teams through controlled pilots, standards, or adoption plans.
  • Relevant certifications in Angular, Java, Spring, cloud platforms, software architecture, security, or AI-related engineering.
  • Passion for staying current with developments in Angular, Spring Boot, Java, cloud engineering, software architecture, generative AI, and modern engineering practices.
