About the role
Terrene Engineering (Pvt) Ltd. is seeking a Research & Development Intern to join their team in Sri Lanka on a hybrid basis. The intern will conduct research on emerging engineering technologies, industry innovations, and international best practices, with a focus on areas such as Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Technology, BIM, Digital Twins, AI, and sustainable engineering. Responsibilities include preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, and research papers, as well as assisting in the development of innovative concepts and technical solutions. The ideal candidate is an undergraduate or graduate in a relevant engineering discipline, fluent in English and Sinhala, with strong research, analytical, and technical writing skills. Must have
- Undergraduate or graduate in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Interior Designing or a related engineering discipline.
- Candidates from other technical disciplines with a strong interest in engineering research and innovation are also encouraged to apply.
- Good understanding of modern engineering concepts and emerging technologies.
- Strong research, analytical, technical writing and documentation skills.
- Fluent in English and Sinhala (both essential).
Nice to have
- Familiarity with engineering software applications will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of BIM, Digital Twin, AI applications, data analysis, automation or sustainable engineering will be highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with academic databases, research methodologies and referencing tools is desirable.
- Tamil language proficiency will be an added advantage.
- Previous research experience or published research papers in journals, conferences or other academic platforms.
- Participation in engineering research projects, innovation competitions or technical initiatives.
- Professional certifications or additional training in relevant engineering software and technologies.
