Senior Business Analyst
About the role
The Senior Business Analyst at IronOne in Colombo is a full-time, on-site position responsible for analyzing business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, and supporting project initiatives to improve business operations. The role involves working closely with teams to design world-class software products, with a focus on business analysis and product ownership within an agile environment. Candidates should have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification, at least 3 years of experience, and strong communication and analytical skills. Experience with capital markets, broker backoffice systems, or trading platforms is advantageous, as is exposure to AI and related technologies.
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in business, IT, computer science, finance or a related field or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience
- Willing to learn capital market domain.
- Passion to work as a product owner.
- Knowledge of BA processes, best practices and methodologies on an agile environment.
- Having hands on experience in writing user stories and other artifacts related to BA.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, analytical mind, problem solving aptitude, and out-of-the box thinking.
- Passionate about what you do and having a hunger to provide innovative software solutions.
- Domain knowledge related to Broker Backoffice system / Trading flatforms / Financial system is a definite advantage.
Nice to have
- Exposure to Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Machine Learning or AI-enabled software solutions.
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini or similar tools to improve productivity, analysis, documentation or business processes.
- Understanding of how Generative AI, AI Agents and automation can be applied to solve business problems.
- Experience identifying and evaluating AI use cases and opportunities for process or product improvements.
- Exposure to working with technical teams on AI-driven features, integrations or automation initiatives will be an added advantage.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into practical AI-enabled solutions will be highly valued.
