Senior DevOps Engineer
About the role
The Senior DevOps Engineer at Intrepid Travel will be responsible for designing, operating, and continuously improving AWS infrastructure, delivery pipelines, and automation. Using Terraform as the main Infrastructure as Code platform, the role focuses on creating consistent and scalable environments for engineering teams. The position involves close collaboration with engineering, security, data, QA, support, and technology leadership teams to enhance platform reliability, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment practices. Key responsibilities include strengthening security, reducing manual work, maintaining clear operational documentation, and supporting incident response and root cause analysis. The role is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with a hybrid work arrangement.
Must have
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or SRE, proficient in designing, operating and improving AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including creating reusable modules and managing infrastructure across multiple environments.
- Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS, including deploying in production environments.
- Building and improving CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, to support automated deployments.
- A solid understanding of AWS services, networking, and cloud security (including technologies such as VPC, IAM, EC2, EKS/ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, Route 53, load balancing, etc.)
- Experience with monitoring, and incident management, using tools such as CloudWatch, New Relic, etc.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, or similar tools.
