Technical Lead – Python Backend Developer
About the role
The Technical Lead – Python Backend Developer will lead backend development efforts, ensuring technical excellence and collaborating with international stakeholders. The role involves designing, developing, and delivering scalable backend applications using Python, maintaining RESTful APIs, and providing technical guidance to team members. The successful candidate will also engage directly with clients, conduct code reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. The position is remote, aligned with the Singapore time zone, and offers a monthly salary in USD.
Must have
- 6+ years of hands-on Python backend development experience.
- Proven experience in a senior or technical leadership role, with prior team-leading experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and backend development practices.
- Hands-on experience with FastAPI and RESTful API development.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, database design, and query optimisation.
- Experience with Docker and containerised application development.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in handling client calls independently.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver high-quality solutions.
Nice to have
- Additional experience with Django, Node.js, Wagtail, Valkey, OpenSearch, DocumentDB, or Firebase will be an advantage.
