Assistant Manager – Data Privacy
About the role
The Assistant Manager – Data Privacy (also titled Senior Associate Lead – Privacy Strategy & Compliance) is responsible for developing and maintaining privacy policies, standards, and governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations such as the PDPA. The role involves conducting privacy impact and risk assessments, providing guidance to various teams, leading third-party privacy risk assessments, and managing privacy incident remediation. The position also includes monitoring regulatory developments, developing privacy awareness programs, preparing risk reports, and identifying opportunities for automation in privacy governance. Candidates should have a relevant bachelor's degree, at least 5 years of experience in related fields, strong knowledge of privacy governance and compliance, and the ability to work independently and influence teams. A Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification is mandatory or must be obtained after appointment. Additional certifications are considered an advantage. Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience across three or more relevant areas, including IT, Information Security, Privacy, Data Governance, Technology Assurance, Internal Audit, Risk, or Compliance.
- Strong knowledge of privacy governance, data protection, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance practices.
- Experience in privacy advisory, compliance monitoring, risk assessments, or technology governance.
- Ability to translate technical and regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
- Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams.
- Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), or willingness to obtain the certification within an agreed timeframe following appointment.
Nice to have
- CIPT, CDPSE, ISO 27701 Lead Implementer, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, or CCNP.
