About the role
The Technical Lead - Data Engineering role involves leading the development of production-grade enterprise applications and data integration solutions, as well as managing teams. The position requires hands-on experience with large data volumes, distributed processing frameworks, ETL design and development, and large relational databases. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of database design, optimization methodologies, and software engineering practices. Experience with NoSQL and big data technologies, as well as Agile and DevOps environments, is considered advantageous.
Must have
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, and 5-6+ years of experience developing production-grade enterprise applications, data integration solutions, and managing teams.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Hands-on experience working with large volumes of data and distributed processing frameworks (preferably Apache Spark).
- Hands-on experience in designing and developing ETLs to process large volumes of data.
- Hands-on experience working with large relational databases (preferably MySQL).
- In-depth understanding of database design and optimization methodologies (OLAP/OLTP database design techniques, query plan analysis).
- In-depth understanding of software engineering methodologies (UML/Design Patterns).
Nice to have
- Experience working with NoSQL databases and big data (Hadoop,
- Elasticsearch, CouchDB, MongoDB) technologies will be an added advantage.
- Experience working in a Scrum Agile delivery environment and with DevOps practices, as well as prior experience working with cloud laaS or PaaS providers such as AWS, will be an added advantage.
