About the role
The Data QA Lead will oversee quality assurance activities for data projects, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and integrity throughout the data lifecycle. The role involves leading QA efforts, creating and executing test cases and plans, performing both manual and automation testing, and validating data across various systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in testing data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouses, as well as proficiency in SQL and data validation. The position is based in Sri Lanka and requires collaboration with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders.
Must have
- 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Testing
- Strong experience in Manual and Automation Testing
- Experience in test case and test plan creation and execution
- Strong knowledge of defect management and QA best practices
- Experience testing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouses
- Strong SQL and data validation skills
- Hands-on exposure to one or more of the following: Snowflake, Azure Data Services, Apache Spark, Power BI, ETL/ELT tools
- Experience working with data engineering teams and data projects
Nice to have
- Experience in Insurance or Financial Services
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
- ISTQB or other relevant QA certifications
