System Engineer
About the role
Payable (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a System Engineer to join their Infrastructure & Systems team, focusing on maintaining secure, reliable, and high-performing infrastructure for fintech and payment platforms. The role involves managing Linux/RHEL servers, deploying and managing applications (Apache, Tomcat, Java), supporting AWS and GCP infrastructure, troubleshooting network and server issues, and maintaining databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL. The position also includes responsibilities for system monitoring, documentation, OS patching, and collaborating with stakeholders. Candidates should have a relevant degree and experience in system administration or infrastructure engineering.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in system administration or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Linux/RHEL administration.
- Experience with Apache, Tomcat, and Java application hosting. Hands-on experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Good understanding of networking, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and firewalls.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP is preferred.
- Knowledge of VMware, Nagios/monitoring tools, Bash/Python scripting, WAF, or security technologies will be an added advantage.
