Senior Data Engineer
About the role
The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for building and operating the central data platform by integrating data from various business and operational systems into a Data Lake, Data Warehouse, or other modern data platforms. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining reliable data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and providing trusted data for BI, analytics, machine learning, and AI applications. Key responsibilities include developing scalable ETL/ELT processes, integrating data from multiple sources, developing data models, and collaborating with business and technical teams to deliver practical data solutions. The position requires strong hands-on experience in SQL, Python, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and data orchestration, as well as a relevant degree and 3–5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related fields.
Must have
- Strong hands-on experience in SQL and Python.
- Good understanding of ETL/ELT, data pipelines and data orchestration.
- Knowledge of Data Lake, Data Warehouse and modern cloud data platforms.
- Practical experience with APIs, database integration and data extraction methods.
- Strong understanding of data modelling, data quality and data governance.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and relational databases.
- Good understanding of cloud technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot data issues and identify root causes.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Big Data, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, ETL/ELT, system integration or a related role.
- Experience in big data, data lake, or cloud data platform development
Nice to have
- Experience integrating ERP systems, databases, APIs and other business applications is highly preferred.
