Part-Time GL Consultant (Contract)
About the role
SYNAPSYS LTD, a technology firm specializing in financial services solutions, is seeking a part-time GL Consultant on a contract basis. The role involves defining the functional design of a standalone General Ledger (GL) module, including chart of accounts, account hierarchies, and multi-entity structures. Responsibilities include designing posting rules, specifying API layers for integration, covering financial processes, defining reporting outputs, and collaborating with product and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in banking or financial services accounting, GL design, or core banking implementation, and a strong understanding of GL architecture and regulatory requirements.
Must have
- 8+ years of experience in banking or financial services accounting, GL design or core banking implementation
- Strong understanding of GL architecture in core banking systems (e.g. T24, Finacle, Flexcube or similar)
- Knowledge of IFRS 9, SLFRS and regulatory reporting requirements
- Experience defining accounting entries for banking products such as deposits, loans, trade finance and treasury
- Ability to translate accounting requirements into clear functional specifications for development teams
- Familiarity with API-based integration concepts
Nice to have
- Professional accounting qualification (CA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) preferred
