About the role
The Senior Software Engineer - Android will be responsible for designing and developing enterprise mobile solutions for a major global corporation. The role involves implementing high-performance, scalable Android applications, adhering to best practices in Android engineering, and participating in the full software lifecycle including development, QA, deployment, and post-production support. The engineer will work collaboratively within a cross-functional Agile team and follow DevOps principles. Key requirements include a relevant degree, 2-4 years of Android development experience, and strong skills in Kotlin/Java, RESTful API integration, modern Android UI toolkits, and local data persistence.
Must have
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, and 2 - 4 years of experience developing production enterprise Android applications, and in managing teams'
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in RESTful Web API integration
- Experience in Kotlin and/or Java within the Android SDK ecosystem, with a good understanding of asynchronous/synchronous programming (Coroutines, Flow, or RxJava)
- Experience in modern Android UI toolkits such as Jetpack Compose, with a good understanding of UI state management and side-effect handling
- Experience in local data persistence (Room/SQLite) or NoSQL solutions, including schema design, querying and performance tuning
- Familiarity with working in a Scrum Agile delivery environment
- Possesses technical knowledge and skills in test data management
- Familiarity with Quality Engineering processes and practices
