AI Engineer Intern (3D & Immersive Experiences)
About the role
Twist Digital is seeking an AI Engineer Intern (3D & Immersive Experiences) to join the team developing Nova, a platform that transforms traditional websites into intelligent, interactive 3D business environments. The intern will assist in building AI agents that analyze businesses, organize content, and guide customers, as well as automate the pipeline for creating immersive 3D spaces from images and floor plans. The role involves working with large language models, vision models, prompt engineering, and Python scripting in Blender, alongside senior engineers and the 3D team. Candidates should have a strong foundation in Python, an interest in AI and 3D technology, and be eager to learn and contribute to production-grade systems.
Must have
- Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Basic experience or academic exposure to Python, with familiarity in libraries such as NumPy and Pandas.
- Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including computer vision and NLP basics.
- Exposure to or strong interest in large language models (OpenAI, Claude, open-source LLMs), prompt engineering and agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar).
- Familiarity with REST APIs and async Python (FastAPI or Flask) is a plus.
- Interest in 3D technology and willingness to learn tools such as Blender and Three.js.
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and collaborative platforms like GitHub.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Passion for AI and a drive to continuously learn and experiment with emerging technologies.
Nice to have
- Experience with Blender, Blender Python scripting or any 3D software.
- Exposure to Three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js or WebGL.
- Familiarity with photogrammetry, Gaussian splatting, NeRFs or image-to-3D models.
- Experience with vision models for image classification, captioning or scene understanding.
- Exposure to vector databases (Pinecone, pgvector) or embedding-based search.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, S3, Lambda) or containerization (Docker).
- Hands-on experience building AI agents or multi-agent systems (personal projects, hackathons or coursework).
