Technical Lead - Java
About the role
The Technical Lead - Java will be responsible for designing and developing enterprise solutions for a major global corporation in the food marketing and distribution sector. The role involves architecting and implementing scalable, distributed enterprise applications, conducting detailed technical design, and ensuring high engineering standards through code reviews and adherence to best practices. The Technical Lead will also break down user stories into technical tasks, provide feedback to team members, and document design decisions. Candidates should have a strong background in full-stack web technologies, experience with cloud and containerization, and a solid understanding of both relational and NoSQL databases. The position requires leadership in both technical execution and team management.
Must have
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience developing production enterprise applications and managing teams
- Extensive, full-stack experience with web-based technologies and architectures such as RESTful APIs, microservices, HTML5, Java, Spring, JavaScript/ES6, Node.js, React
- An in-depth understanding of the technology stack, e.g.: HTTP, browser/JS engine architecture, relational and NoSQL databases, Linux, containers/virtual machines
- Experience in architecting, designing, and implementing highly available, scalable web applications
- Familiarity with a variety of software patterns and principles
- Database skills – the ability to understand the use cases for relational and non-relational data, such as implemented code against several different database platforms: RDBMS, NoSQL, and shared storage
- Experience with DevOps practices and working with Cloud IaaS or PaaS providers such as AWS and Azure
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- A proficient understanding of agile processes, CI/CD, and code versioning tools, such as Git
- The ability to quickly learn new and existing technologies
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to exercise mature judgment
