About the role
The Technical Lead – Engineering & Delivery role is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and is available as either a full-time or contract position with a hybrid work arrangement. The position requires at least 7 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong hands-on expertise in Next.js, TypeScript, and Python. The Technical Lead will be responsible for leading end-to-end engineering execution, designing and developing scalable applications, driving technical architecture decisions, and taking ownership of project delivery. The role also involves project management responsibilities such as delivery planning, stakeholder coordination, and execution management, while maintaining close involvement in technical decision-making. The company is seeking a senior technical professional who can combine deep technical expertise with leadership and project management skills. Interested candidates are invited to apply via email.
Must have
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong track record of delivering production-grade software applications.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Next.js, TypeScript, and Python, with the ability to independently design, build, debug, and optimise complex applications.
- Proven experience in software architecture, system design, technical decision-making, and engineering best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of technical direction and lead projects from requirements through production delivery.
- Strong understanding of API design, databases, system integrations, application security, scalability, and performance optimisation.
- Experience leading technical initiatives, conducting code reviews, establishing engineering standards, and guiding other developers.
- Solid understanding of automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, deployment strategies, and production support.
- Practical experience using AI-powered development tools and agents to improve engineering productivity, with the ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated code.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, estimate development effort, identify dependencies, and develop realistic delivery plans.
- Experience managing development priorities, project timelines, technical risks, and delivery dependencies.
- Familiarity with project management and issue-tracking tools such as GitHub Issues, Linear, or Jira.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- A high degree of ownership, accountability, and independence in a fast-paced working environment.
- Interest in expanding into project management, delivery leadership, and broader execution responsibilities.
