Data QA Lead
About the role
The Data QA Lead will oversee quality assurance activities for data projects, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data throughout its lifecycle. The role involves leading QA efforts, creating and executing test cases and plans, performing both manual and automation testing, validating data across systems, and testing data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouses. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL and data validation skills, experience with defect management, and hands-on exposure to tools such as Snowflake, Azure Data Services, Apache Spark, Power BI, and ETL/ELT tools. Collaboration with data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders is key, as is driving test automation and continuous quality improvements. The position is based in Sri Lanka and requires at least 6 years of relevant experience.
Must have
- 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Testing
- Strong experience in Manual and Automation Testing
- Experience in test case and test plan creation and execution
- Strong knowledge of defect management and QA best practices
- Experience testing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouses
- Strong SQL and data validation skills
- Hands-on exposure to one or more of the following: Snowflake, Azure Data Services, Apache Spark, Power BI, ETL/ELT tools
- Experience working with data engineering teams and data projects
Nice to have
- Experience in Insurance or Financial Services
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
- ISTQB or other relevant QA certifications
