About the role

Teceze is offering a 6-month paid internship for a Python Development Intern in Jaffna. The intern will join the Software Development team and gain hands-on experience in developing, testing, and maintaining Python-based software applications. Responsibilities include assisting in the development of applications, writing clean Python code, developing APIs and backend services, collaborating with team members, participating in debugging and code reviews, working with databases, and using version control tools. The role provides exposure to real-world projects and the opportunity to learn about the full software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and industry best practices. There is a high intent to convert successful interns to full-time roles, with a potential full-time salary of up to LKR 100,000/month.

Must have

Final-year student or recent graduate in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field
Good understanding of Python programming fundamentals
Basic knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software development principles
Good communication, teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

Basic knowledge of databases and SQL is an advantage
Familiarity with Git/GitHub/GitLab is a plus
Prior academic projects, personal projects, or internship experience using Python is an advantage

Highlights

Day and night shift stipends are available (LKR 20,000/month for day shift, LKR 25,000/month for night shift). Out-district candidates are provided with accommodation. The internship is paid and lasts 6 months. There is a strong possibility of conversion to a full-time position based on performance. Reporting is to a Senior Software Developer or Tech Lead.
