Senior AI Native Full Stack Engineer (PHP+Next.js)
About the role
Gapstars is seeking a Senior AI Native Full Stack Engineer with expertise in PHP and Next.js to join their team. The role involves designing, building, testing, and maintaining product features within a cross-functional team, taking ownership from design to production. The engineer will work with Laravel on the backend and Next.js on the frontend, ensuring code quality, system reliability, and continuous improvement. Collaboration with product owners, designers, and other engineers is essential, as is supporting deployments and monitoring application behavior. The company works with a range of European clients, offering opportunities to solve real-world challenges with modern solutions.
Must have
- Experience in backend and/or frontend development
- Hands-on experience with PHP (preferably Laravel) and TypeScript (preferably React/Next.js/Vue.js).
- Solid understanding of software quality (testing, debugging, maintainability).
- Experience with modern development tooling and frameworks.
- Basic understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD, deployments, monitoring).
- Awareness of performance, security, and scalability at component level.
- Ability to work independently within defined boundaries and take ownership.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a product-driven environment.
- Familiarity with scalable web architectures.
- Experience with observability tooling (logging, metrics, tracing).
- Experience working in a fullstack role across backend and frontend.
