Senior Software Engineer
About the role
The Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) is hiring a Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer to join their technology team. The role involves developing responsive web applications using React.js and Next.js, building backend services with Java and Spring Boot, designing microservices and RESTful APIs, and working with event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka. The position also includes database design and optimization with PostgreSQL, deploying and maintaining applications on AWS, and participating in Agile/Scrum practices. Candidates should have at least 4 years of professional software development experience and a relevant degree. Experience with Docker, unit and integration testing, secure coding, and authentication protocols is required. The role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with developers, QA engineers, and business analysts.
Must have
- BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in React.js & Next.js, Java & Spring Boot, Microservices & RESTful APIs, Apache Kafka Event-Driven Architecture, PostgreSQL, AWS Cloud, Git/GitHub.
- Experience with Docker and containerized application development.
- Experience in unit and integration testing.
- Good understanding of JWT/OAuth 2.0, authentication, authorization, and RBAC.
- Knowledge of secure coding principles and OWASP practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Nice to have
- Experience in EdTech, Higher Education, or University environments.
- Experience with Student Management Systems, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Academic Management Systems, or University ERP solutions.
- Understanding of academic or education technology platforms.
