AI | ML Engineer
About the role
The Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to join the Department of IT at their Malabe campus. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying AI/ML solutions to automate and optimize academic, administrative, and student-facing processes. Key responsibilities include developing generative AI applications, LLM-based solutions, chatbots, and integrating AI/ML with existing systems. The position requires evaluating and maintaining AI solutions with a focus on accuracy, scalability, and responsible AI practices. Candidates must have a relevant bachelor's degree and at least one year of experience in AI/ML development or related fields.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in AI/ML development, Generative AI, or AI-powered application development.
- Practical knowledge of machine learning, Generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, and related AI technologies.
- Familiarity with AI development platforms, frameworks, and tools used to build, test, deploy, and manage AI/ML and Generative AI solutions.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate emerging AI technologies and apply them to practical organisational requirements.
