Senior Software Engineer - Python
About the role
The Senior Software Engineer – Python at Trident Recruitment Solutions is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable back-end services and APIs using Python, with a focus on performance, reliability, and security. The role involves writing clean, testable code, reviewing peers' code, troubleshooting production issues, and optimizing existing systems. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in architecture discussions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices and tooling. The position is full-time and hybrid, based in Colombo, with some flexibility for remote work. Candidates will join a dynamic team and work on impactful technology projects for Trident's clients.
Must have
- Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming with Python, including experience building production-grade applications.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration with databases.
- Applied expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and modular, maintainable code practices.
- Experience with modern development workflows and tools (version control with Git, CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and code review practices).
- Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases, caching, and performance tuning for large-scale systems.
- Ability to work effectively in hybrid environments, collaborate with diverse teams, and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in a senior or lead engineering role is highly advantageous.
