AI Conversation Recording Contributor - Sinhala (Sri Lanka)
About the role
This freelance role involves contributing to a Sinhala (Sri Lanka) speech data collection project to support the evaluation and development of AI technologies. Contributors will record or collect natural, spontaneous speech, participate in conversational tasks, annotate speech data, and provide related metadata. The work is flexible, task-based, and can be done from home, with an estimated commitment of 2–4 hours daily. Applicants must have native-level fluency in Sinhala, strong familiarity with the language, and an advanced level of English for understanding instructions. Technical requirements include a quiet recording space, a microphone, and reliable internet access. The project offers flexible remote work, timely payments, and the opportunity to contribute to AI advancements.
Must have
- Native-level fluency in Sinhala (Sri Lanka)
- Authentic pronunciation and strong familiarity with the target language through everyday use
- Advanced level of English to understand written instructions
- Contributors must not imitate dialects or accents that are not their own
- Strong attention to detail when providing annotations and recording metadata.
- Ability to follow detailed project and recording instructions.
- Quiet room or recording space with minimal background noise
- Computer microphone or headset with microphone
- Reliable internet connection
- Ability to access and use an online recording platform
Nice to have
- Experience with speech recording or data annotation projects is an advantage, but not required
