About the role
The Data Engineering & Architect Lead at Surge Global is responsible for driving the design, development, and evolution of the organization's enterprise data engineering and platform strategy. This leadership role oversees the Data Engineering and Architecture pillar, ensuring the creation and maintenance of a scalable, secure, and innovative data and advanced analytics platform. The position involves establishing standards, integration practices, and guidelines, embedding data governance, and supporting strategic business initiatives including advanced analytics, AI/ML, and BI requirements. The role also includes mentoring teams and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Surge Global is a leading digital consultancy based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, serving clients globally.
Must have
- Master’s Degree in Information Technology/Data Engineering/Data Science/Computer Science or a related field.
Nice to have
- A professional certification such as Certified Data Management Professional, Professional Certification in Data Engineering, Data Platform, Data Architect or a related field will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 8 years of work experience in the field of Data, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Computer Science or related fields will be an added advantage.
- Experience in leading or mentoring data engineering teams, platform architect initiatives or enterprise data projects will also be an added advantage.
