Assistant Manager – Cyber Security
About the role
The Assistant Manager – Cyber Security at Colombo West International Terminal (CWIT) will support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization's cyber security framework, policies, and procedures. The role involves monitoring and responding to cyber security incidents, supporting Security Operations Centre (SOC) and SIEM operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards, conducting risk assessments and audits, and providing technical guidance on firewall management. The position also includes supporting the secure operation of IT and OT systems and assisting management in reporting on cyber security matters. CWIT is a technologically advanced terminal in the Port of Colombo, aiming to redefine the maritime ecosystem through automation and innovation.
Must have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cyber security or information security roles.
- Hands-on experience in SOC operations, SIEM tools, incident response, and cyber security monitoring.
- Sound knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001 or similar cyber security frameworks and standards.
- Strong practical experience in firewall configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform under pressure.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications such as CEH, CySA+, ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer / Lead Auditor, GIAC GSEC, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Experience in critical infrastructure, ports, industrial, or OT environments will be an added advantage.
