Full Stack Engineer (React.js, Python)
About the role
Type B Digital is seeking a Full Stack Engineer (React.js, Python) to join their remote team in Sri Lanka on a full-time, 6+ month contract. The role involves working within a client's engineering team to deliver production features across the stack, including backend services, React UI, and integrations for a healthcare engagement platform. Responsibilities include building campaign tooling, developing backend services, integrating AI-powered features, designing PostgreSQL schemas, deploying on AWS/Heroku, and adhering to HIPAA-aligned security practices. Candidates should have strong experience in Python (with Django, Flask, or FastAPI), React, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, cloud deployment, and code testing. Clear communication and the ability to overlap with US Eastern hours are required. Must have
- 3+ years of professional experience building production web applications.
- Strong Python backend experience with Django, Flask, or FastAPI (name the client's framework once you know it).
- Strong React experience with modern JavaScript (hooks, state management, API integration).
- Solid PostgreSQL skills: schema design, migrations, query optimization.
- Experience deploying and running applications on AWS or a similar cloud platform.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
- A habit of testing your code (pytest, Jest, or similar).
- Clear written and spoken English, and being comfortable working directly with a client team.
- Able to overlap with US Eastern working hours for 4-5 hours a day.
Nice to have
- TypeScript.

- Healthcare or other regulated-data experience (HIPAA, PHI, SOC 2).
- Background job and queue systems (Celery, RQ, SQS).
- Messaging integrations (Twilio, SendGrid, or similar).
- Experience building with LLM APIs.

- Prior staff-augmentation or consulting experience.
