Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
About the role
The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at EFL will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of EDI parsers and generators across various formats. The role involves troubleshooting production incidents, translating customer mapping specifications, reviewing code, and using AI-assisted development tools to improve workflows and outputs. The position also includes mentoring engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the quality and security of delivered solutions. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in backend or integration engineering, deep knowledge of EDI standards, and strong programming and SQL skills. The role is based at EFL's headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of backend or integration engineering experience, including at least 6 years of hands-on EDI experience
- Deep working knowledge of at least one major EDI standard, such as EDIFACT or ANSI X12
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language, such as Python, Java, Node.js, or C#
- Strong SQL skills
- Hands-on experience with integration protocols and patterns including AS2, SFTP, REST APIs, and message queues
- Demonstrable experience using AI development tools to improve engineering workflows, with the ability to assess and validate AI-generated outputs
- Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills with a focus on permanent solutions
- Strong judgment and accountability when working with AI-assisted development tools
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams
- Strong mentoring and knowledge-sharing capabilities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Nice to have
- Experience with GitHub Enterprise, pull requests, feature branches, and version control workflows will be an advantage
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Jenkins Pipeline, Ansible, and AWS-based architectures will be an advantage
- Experience in freight forwarding, 3PL, or supply chain environments will be an added advantage
