Business Analyst cum Software Quality Assurance Engineer
About the role
This role combines business analysis and software quality assurance responsibilities within a prominent label and packaging company in the Homagama region. The position involves gathering and documenting business and system requirements, preparing specifications and test plans, coordinating with stakeholders, executing various types of testing, tracking defects, validating workflows, and supporting software implementation and improvements. Candidates should have a relevant degree and 1–2 years of experience in business analysis or software quality assurance, with strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and testing processes. Familiarity with SQL, API testing, manual testing, and project management tools is required.
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in Business Analysis and/or Software Quality Assurance.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and software testing processes.
- Experience in requirement gathering, documentation, and business process analysis.
- Knowledge of SQL, API testing (Postman), and manual testing.
- Familiarity with Jira, Trello, or similar project management tools.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with business users and software developers.
Nice to have
- Experience with ERP, manufacturing, inventory, or production management systems.
- Knowledge of test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- ISTQB or Business Analysis certifications.
