Cyber Security Engineer
About the role
The Garage Men’s Custom Clothing, a company specializing in custom apparel, is seeking a full-time Cyber Security Engineer for its Colombo location. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls to protect the organization's networks, systems, and data. Key responsibilities include monitoring security events, conducting vulnerability assessments, managing security tools, responding to incidents, and collaborating with IT and business teams to enforce security policies and support compliance. The position also contributes to security awareness initiatives and recommends improvements to the company's security posture.
Must have
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Cybersecurity and Information Security to design and maintain comprehensive security frameworks.
- Candidates should possess skills in Network Security to secure local and cloud-based network infrastructure and related devices.
- Candidates should possess skills in Application Security to protect web and internal applications throughout their lifecycle.
- Candidates should possess skills in Vulnerability Assessment to identify, analyze, and help remediate security weaknesses.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with security monitoring tools, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection platforms.
- Knowledge of security best practices, compliance standards, and incident response processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in an on-site, collaborative environment.
Nice to have
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or similar are beneficial.
