Associate Cloud Engineer – Presales & Support
About the role
The Associate Cloud Engineer – Presales & Support role involves a blend of technical consulting in a presales capacity and providing basic customer support for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. The position is responsible for conducting technical discovery sessions, delivering technical demos, drafting proposals, managing deal registrations, and ensuring smooth handover to delivery teams. Additionally, the role handles first-line customer support, troubleshooting, escalation management, and documentation of support scenarios. Candidates should have hands-on experience with core cloud services, strong communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset. Must have
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in cloud operations or technical support (Google Cloud Platform preferred; experience with AWS or Azure is acceptable provided there is a strong commitment to transition fully to GCP).
- Practical experience working with core cloud infrastructure components:
- Compute: Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), App Engine, or equivalent virtual/container workloads.
- Networking: VPCs, Cloud Load Balancing, Firewall rules, DNS, Cloud VPN/Interconnect.
- Identity & Security: IAM roles, policies, service accounts, and resource hierarchy.
- Observability: Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and incident alerting setups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical client stakeholders.
- A strong service-oriented mindset with patience and clarity when handling customer support requests.
Nice to have
- High curiosity and eagerness to learn about Generative AI, AI agents, BigQuery, and modern Google Cloud data offerings.
- Familiarity with drafting basic technical documentation, estimates, or customer proposals.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Partner Advantage programs or partner portals.
