About the role

HLB Lanka Business Advisory is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant to join their Cybersecurity and IT GRC team, supporting an HLB member firm in Australia and its clients. This full-time role is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and offers hybrid flexibility with working hours from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Sri Lanka time) to align with Australian business hours. The consultant will deliver cybersecurity consulting engagements, conduct risk assessments, support IT GRC initiatives, and provide training and awareness programs. The role involves working closely with overseas clients, preparing reports, and coaching junior team members.

Must have

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline
CISSP, CISM, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity consulting, IT Audit, or IT risk
Previous audit and consulting experience, with the ability to assess controls, identify gaps, and provide practical recommendations
Working knowledge of the ACSC Essential Eight and its maturity model, with experience assessing or implementing it
Proven client handling experience, including managing stakeholders and leading client meetings
Experience delivering training and awareness sessions on cybersecurity
Experience working with overseas clients, preferably Australian or other international clients
Ability to work the 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM shift to align with Australian business hours
Fluent English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, documentation, and presentation skills
Ability to work independently while escalating significant risks or complex issues appropriately
